Genesis eNews Extended plugin for WordPress makes it easy to capture the emails of people who visit your site. This is very important because it allows you the chance the bring them back with emails about new posts, special offers, and more.
How To Set Up An Email Subscription Box with Genesis eNews Extended
This tutorial is part of the Midnight Theme Installation Documentation, but can be applied to any WordPress Genesis theme.
Follow these instructions to quickly set up your newsletter subscription box!

- Install the plugin “Genesis Enews Extended”.

- Go to your widget area and drag the genesis enews extended plugin into appropiate areas.

- Fill out the mailing support fields (FeedBurner, MailChimp, AWeber, FeedBlitz,..).
- Be sure to click the “Save” button to preserve your changes.
The Midnight Theme utilizes the Genesis eNews Extended widget within the Home Bottom, Sidebar, and Footer 2 widgets spaces.
How to set up Genesis eNews Extended with Convertkit
If you are using ConvertKit for your email provider (which I recommend), here is how you can set up your newsletter signup form!
When you go to create a new form you will have two options for your form style and then you’ll have more selections to make based on your initial choice.
From there, within the Genesis Enews Extended widget there will be 3 fields that are the most important to complete as noted below.
FORM ACTION FIELD
Complete and save your form, then look for your unique form ID.
This is the URL for your unique form. The highlighted portion above is your unique form ID. Next, we will use these numbers for the subscription box set up.
If you’re using old forms, here’s the format of the form action link you’ll use. You’ll simply replace “818567” with your own unique ID.

E-MAIL FIELD
For this, if you have the old form, you just need to add the text:
email
If you have the new form, add:
email_address
FIRST NAME FIELD
You’ll add the following regardless of which form you have:
first_name
LAST NAME FIELD
Leave this one blank.
All the other fields can be customized as you want or left blank.
